I use a variety of medium including Acrylic, Gold leaf and Metallic paint. My Design background draws me towards a sophisticated palette with natural tones of aqua, ivory and earth complemented by rich copper, gold and silver. Iridescent textures and pattern are what is most prominent in my work. The abstract forms within my art often have a realistic finish which people always want to touch. I love to bring both a tactile essence to my paintings along with a luminous quality which lifts the contours of the image through light. This motion continues through into my figurative paintings. Although I am naturalistically trained I have developed a unique style of drawing, elongating the human form with flowing lines.

My choice of subject matter comes from what I am most passionate about the movement of dance and the sea, and as a result my love and energy is conveyed in the paintings. The way I draw is often reflected in my subject matter, the dynamic rhythm of a dancer is evident in the smooth curvaceous use of line and harmonious colours.

Inspiration is easy when you live along the magical Jurassic coastline, a simple walk along the beach can evoke my imagination. I hope you enjoy looking at my Art as much as I enjoy making it.
