This town scene is based on Broad Street in Lyme Regis. The Bell cliff hotel is the central point with the cobbled streets leading you into the painting and towards the sea. Lyme Regis is full of history and character and anyone who has been to Lyme regis will recognise this quirky view. This particular painting was drafted very early one January frosty morning long before the crowds.
